There are 3 main reasons that it’s difficult to hold a handstand - mobility, alignment and stability. The 4th reason (the reason that sometimes it can be difficult to even know which of the 3 main reasons is holding you back) … is the fear.
We’ve designed this workshop to include exercises that will enhance you're mobility, stability and alignment to help you overcome the hurdles you’ll face trying to nail your handstands.
We’ve also made sure that these exercises are ones that you are able to do safely on your own, without the need to use a gym or any gym equipment, all you need will be you and a wall.
The world of handstands involves innumerable drills and exercises and everyone will have their own way of learning to handstand, but if you follow the steps throughout this workshop you can progress all the way from the ground to being able to handstand free standing.
Along the way you will likely discover what works well for you and your body, what feels good and what doesn't and you will be able to adjust the amounts of each exercise that is required to train effectively for handstands.
A look into your workshop:
Handstands epitomise this love for fun, they are unique when compared to what most of us consider to be traditional gym exercises. When done well, it's easy to see the grace and elegance on show. When training for them, I have found that clients are often better than they expect to be, it’s then hugely motivating to use handstands to challenge what you ‘think you can do’. Seeing progress with handstands is easy and because they take some time to master you're also able to feel subtle changes to the movement as you make them. The combination of being visually appealing and challenging makes handstands hugely rewarding to achieve, in addition to the host of physical benefits, psychologically they're worth spending time practicing.
